The continual evolution of mountain biking has led to a recent boom in the popularity of bike skills parks. These venues can be a terrific community component that provides a managed arena for beginners and experts alike. One of the essentials in skills parks are trail features. Technical trail features are purposely built obstacles on the trail with the purpose of adding the difficulty and fun. You can see them incorporated into the trail or as an alternative line to the the trail.
Activities within the skills park range from the broad spectrum of trail features as simple as ladder bridges, skinnies, rollers to kicker ramps.
The skills park provides the opportunity for mountain bikers of all levels of experience to develop a range of skills including bike handling, balancing, jumping and turning.
A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by riders "pumping" generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing. It was originally designed for the mountain bike and BMX scene, and now, due to concrete constructions, is also used by skateboard. Pump Track cater to a wide variety of rider skill levels so they progress in fun and safe way.
